Last week Scarlett Johansson, on the Tonight Show With Jay Leno, claimed she caught the cold from The Spirit costar Samuel L. Jackson. After Leno handed her a tissue and the starlet gave a good blow, she joked that the used hanky had some value.
To test her hypothesis, the tissue was placed on the auction block on eBay, with proceeds benefiting USA Harvest.
Seems an anonymous, recession-proof fan dug deep into his or her pockets and anted up $5,300 for the snot rag during a last-minute bidding war.
The winner of the golden mucus will be confirmed and announced on tonight’s Tonight Show.
