The question: Was Jett Travolta autistic and denied treatment due to his father’s Scientology beliefs?
Here are some facts: As previously reported, Jett Travolta, son of John Travolta and Kelly Preston, died Friday, January 2, after hitting his head on the bathtub during a seizure. A statement by the family lawyer, Michael Ossis, stated Jett had a history of seizures, and that they were under control until this fatal one.
Preston revealed in 2002 that Jett has a rare disorder called Kawasaki Syndrome. According to KidsHealth.org, Kawasaki Syndrome is a lymph node disorder which causes rashes upon the body and if left untreated, it can cause damage to the heart and vascular system. Kawasaki Syndrome does not cause seizures. If Jett Travolta wasn’t seizing because of Kawasaki Syndrome, why was he experiencing seizures? Was Kawasaki Syndrome a cover for Jett’s true disorder: autism?
According to a news article on Telegraph.co.uk, there is speculation about whether Jett was autistic. The rumors claim he lacked communication skills, which is a classic sign of the disorder.
Why is this such a big deal? Because the Church of Scientology doesn’t recognize autism as a condition. According to Scientology beliefs, autism doesn’t exist.
The Church of Scientology denounces any mental illness, and it rejects the use of prescription medication to treat these illnesses, including autism. Since autism is commonly associated with epilepsy, there are anti-convulsion drugs that can help with the seizures, but since the Church of Scientology doesn’t believe autism and the related seizures exist, they don’t treat it.
The Church of Scientology has other techniques to help with injury, trauma, and discomfort - the followers believe that if you can reconnect your spirit to your body, the spirit can solve all things wrong with the body. Hardly a cure for seizures experienced by a 16-year old.
Overview: John Travolta and Kelly Preston are members of the Church of Scientology. Jett was suffering from seizures which were not caused by Kawasaki syndrome. Furthermore, he exhibited the classic signs of autism in the marked communication issues.
Conclusion: The Church of Scientology must have played at least a small part in the death of Jett Travolta. If he was provided the proper medication, he might still be alive. There are some things even L. Ron Hubbard can’t cure.

Your conclusion sucks: Jett was on anti-seizure medicine. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/28497268/
Nonsense. We now know Jett was taking a drug called Depakote, a strong anti-seizure medication. There have been reports Travolta refused to give his son anti-seizure meds because of Scientology but those stories are not true.

If you noticed they stopped giving him the medication. According to them it caused more damage than good. However there are many other anticonvulsants that they could have tried. My son has been diagnosed with a autism spectrum disorder and it is clearly a disorder. Research scientology and you shall see how many people have died because of anti-medication beliefs they have. Look at the comment Tom Cruise made about Brooke Shields. May Jett rest in peace,
