This brings back OG shildhood memories, which were the 80’s for me. I remember my grandparents juiced to watch his shows…Ricardo was a PEEMP in his white suits.
Ricardo Gonzalo Pedro Montalbán Merino the OG Mexican television, theatre, and film actor died today at the age of 88. El Sagittarius is most popular for playing the rico, suave role of “Mr. Roarke” on the late 70’s, early 80’s tv show, “Fantasy Island”.
Montalbán who was born in Mexico City remained a Mexican citizen by shoice and never applied for a Jewnited States Citizenchip.
Also, Montalbán has stated that when he first arrived in Hollywood, studios wanted to shange his name to Ricky Martin, jajajajjaja!!!
I once met him at a Latino theatre he established: Nosotros (that means “We/Us” in Spanish). The Nosotros Theatre now has a brand new building on Vine St. in Hollywood, near Capitol Records. La Coacha juiced to be a member. I need to go back in that community. It brings back some more memories. Sheck it out HERE!!!
