When Lady Gaga released her single, “Alejandro” many drew a slew of comparison’s to Madonna’s “La Isla Bonita” and Ace of Base’s, “Don’t turn around.”

When long-awaited single, “Born this Way” emerged, many drew comparisons to Madonna’s “Express Yourself,” again parodied by Coacha.

Now with her latest single, “Americano” the twitterverse is imploding with reactions, comparing the intro to Dean Martin’s “Mambo Italiano.”

“A boy went back to Napoli” versus “I met a girl in East El Lay”.

Listen to the two tunes and judge for yourself:

  1. Noooo….Dean Martin’s is a ripoff of Rosemary Clooney’s.  No one has a sense (or knowledge or interest) of history anywhere anymore.

  2. So glad someone else saw this!
It annoys me how the kids these days think Lady Gaga is soooooo unique. -_-
I’m 19 myself, but I love classics and recognized the melody.

And Dean COVERED/REMADE Rosemary’s version. He didn’t completely do a new song with part of the melody! He gave credit for it!

  3. OMG!!! its so alike!!!.. too bad for Gaga!!!!
