Everyone expected Jay Leno to leave NBC once his contract at the Tonight Show was up and Conan O’Brien took over as the long-running program’s new host.

Many insiders predicted that the other networks would offer Leno, still a huge ratings draw, a lot more money and woo him to a different network.

But Leno is comfortable where he is. NBC has just signed him to a new contract that will have him presiding over a Tonight Show-style show during the 10 p.m. hour on a nightly basis. Same show, different time.
