Although Olympics swimmer Michael Phelps lost his Kellog’s endoresement, sandwich chain Subway is still sticking by him despite his recent controversy.
“Like most Americans, and like Michael Phelps himself, we were disappointed in his behavior,†the statement said. “Also like most Americans, we accept his apology. Moving forward, he remains in our plans.â€
One week ago, Phelps was criticized for smoking marijuana from a bong.. Since then, he has apologized but has been suspended from competitive swimming for three months.
Most of the swimmer’s sponsors have said they’re sticking by Phelps, including Visa, Speedo, luxury Swiss watchmaker Omega and athletic drink PureSports.
People need to realize that Phelps didn’t do anything out of the oridinary for most of us and this should all be forgiven and forgotten soon.
