At only 23 years of age, Michael Phelps finally won the much anticipated and record breaking eighth gold medal this past Sunday. What did Phelps have to say just moments after winning this history making event by a mere 0.01 second? “There’s so much emotions going through my head [...] I just want to see my mom.” Que cute, our beloved champ is also a mama’s boy.

So what’s next for Phelps after his 15 minutes of fame? Big companies are ready to cash-in on his worldwide recognition. Kellogg’s has already announced that Phelps’ mug will be on boxes of Frosted Flakes and Corn Flakes. I can’t wait to see his face every morning with eight over-sized coins dangling from his neck when I’m hung over and running late to work.

It is also reported that he and his Coach, Bob Bowman, are purchasing a pool in Baltimore to start up their own swim club business. I don’t know how much they are forking out for a pool, but my friend Flaco and I can finish that bitch in 2 days for $200 and a 12-pack of Corona.

The half man-half fish has already confirmed he will continue to compete in the 2012 games to be held in London. I guess he doesn’t want us to forget about him for too long. Congrats homegirl!
